Captain`s Days

Bicester Golf Club Captains Day 2006

Pictured above from left to right are the winning team in the 29th July 2006 Mens` and Ladies Captains day with the respective Captains of the year, Ivan Curtis (Men`s Captain), Richard Upton, Tim Horn, Carol Hill (Ladies Captain) Alan Watts and Melanie Cantwell. It was a closely fought competition with the eventual winners scoring 58.1 a very good score on a blustery afternoon.

Friends and families came along to the evening festivities which included a disco and BBQ, the BBQ was provided by Enrico Ramaglia the clubs new Italian Head Chef. A lot of money was raised for charity on the day adding towards the £10000 the captains hope to raise to send a local boy George Stooks to swim with the dolphins and also the Special Care Baby Unit at the Horton Hospital.

Bicester Golf Club Senior Captains Day 2006

Thursday 27th July saw the Senior`s Captain Doug McDowell and playing partners Charlie Allpress and Dave Morris take the spoils in the Senior Captain Days, around 40 seniors took part in the event and the winning score off 63.1 was very commendable on another hot July Day.

Sandra Doug`s wife raised a healthy sum at a £1 a kiss for his local cancer charity this made temperatures sour even higher, at one stage an ambulance was nearly called as it appeared mouth to mouth resuscitation was taking place.
